Competition for Best Dressed in Vintage - 

Fabulous Prizes to be given away, as follows:-

1st Place will win a $100 voucher which is redeemable with any exhibitor at the show, 2nd Place will win a $75 voucher and 3rd Place a $50 voucher, also every entrant will receive a prize.

No entry form is required for the Best Dressed in Vintage Competition, just turn up on the night and enter.

Demonstration of Vintage Makeup Techniques & Hairstyles

by Mistress Christine from the Lindy Charm School for Girls.   

The Lindy Charm School for Girls is dedicated to reviving the golden age of glamour and etiquette of the early 20th century, by introducing girls to red lipstick, bullet bra's, girdles, garters, seamed nylons, sky high heels and how to wear them, pin curls, victory rolls, finger waves, and a wiggly walk to boot.

If you have ever wanted to become a pin up girl or you hold a divine interest or penchant for recreating or learning to recreate the vintage beauty of day's gone by, then let us Charm school you.

They are experts in period styling such as Victory Rolls, Ribboning, 1940s Upstyles and Pin Curling, so let them do your hair for you on the spot for that instant makeover.  No prior appointment required, just put your name down on the day.

Lecture and Presentation of Antique Fashions by Charlotte Smith

The Darnell collection is one of the largest and most important collections of fashion in Australia and comprises more than 4000 items from the Regency period to the 1980s. The collection was amassed by Doris Darnell, a Pennsylvanian Quaker and was later gifted to her goddaughter living in Australia.

This collection contains items drawn from across the world, France, England, Australia and the United States.  

Charlotte will tell us the fabulous and romantic stories behind the garments and items that will be on display

Presentation of Antique Fashions by the Cavalcade of History & Fashion Inc.

The Cavalcade Collection tells the story of Australian history through fashion, using authentic gowns and accessories, spanning the years from pre-First Fleet circa 1788 to the present. The collection has over 1200 authentic historic ladies gowns and accessories, men’s and children’s clothes, and household items – all of which have been generously donated. Their presentation will include Mid to late Victorian underwear and the evening gowns that would have been worn over them. The Cavalcade will show the process of "dressing" from shift and bloomers through all the layers to the finished gown.
